New Cloyes Hex-A-Just True Roller timing sets offer excellent durability, performance, and ease of adjustment. The Hex-A-Just cam gear uses an adjustable bushing on the camshaft timing gear that allows you to advance or retard your cam timing to boost low-end torque or high-end power, by rotating the bushing in the gear. When combined with a 2-pc timing cover (not-included), cam timing adjustments are fast and simple. Kit includes crank gear (3-way adjustable), oil drive, cam gear (bushing adjustable), double row timing chain, roller thrust bearing, and bushing. Most timing covers need to be grinded for clearance around the oil pump bolts. Fits the following:

    97-05 LS1/LS2/LS6 engines (24x crank sensor)
    97-05 LS1/LS6 Corvette
    98-04 LS1 Camaro & Trans Am

NOTE : LS motors come in 2 reluctor styles, 24x and 58x. 24x is identified with a black crank sensor, 58x is identified with a gray crank sensor. You cannot mix the timing sets with a different crank ring style!

How do you choose the proper timing set? On LS motors, if you are doing a basic rebuild, a stock timing set is all you need, even to 400 HP. If you plan on making more than 500 HP, you will want a performance timing set. If you plan on adding nitrous, supercharger or turbocharger, you will want to invest in an adjustable timing set. Adjustable timing sets allow you to advance or retard your cam timing. If you plan on degreeing your cam during installation only, an adjustable set with a crank keyway is all that is really required. If you plan on making multiple degree adjustments through test and tune, you will want a cam gear adjustable set. Timing sets with roller thrust bearings reduce friction and wear against the cam retainer plate. Single row timing sets fit under most stock covers, double row timing sets normally require modification to the timing cover.
