PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD! YOU MUST PHYSICALLY INSPECT YOUR WATER PUMP, IT MAY HAVE BEEN CHANGED!!!!!!

New Motorad thermostat. This is a 160 degree thermostat which is lower than the stock temperature (which is 187 degrees). Thermostat includes aluminum housing and O-ring. Fits the following:

97-03 LS1/LS6 Corvette
98-02 LS1 Camaro, Z28
98-02 LS1 Firebird, Formula, Trans Am, WS6, Firehawk

NOTE : The temperature of the thermostat is when the thermostat opens, NOT the actual temperature of the engine. Just as a stock 187 degree thermostat doesn't show 187 on your gauge, DO NOT expect a 160/180 to show 160/180 on your gauge! Variances such as outside temperature, airflow through the radiator, whether your A/C is on or off, and engine condition affect the actual operating temperature. The lower the thermostat temp, the cooler the engine can run. The higher the thermostat temp, the hotter the engine can run. Please read the notes below.

NOTE : We have noticed many other eBayers incorrectly advertising water pumps for the LS1/LS2/LS6 engines. Although the water pumps all bolt up to the blocks the same, the thermostat mounting is very different, as well as the diameter of the outlet. This listing is for the 97-03 style water pumps, which use a 1-piece thermostat (thermostat is part of the housing, RH in the photos). The 04-14 water pumps use a 2-piece thermostat (thermostat slides out of the housing, LH in the photos). Please look at your water pump and compare before purchasing this if you recently changed pumps or purchased one off someone else. We do carry both, view our other items.
