    New Richmond EXcel ring and pinion set. This is a 3.55:1 gear ratio (39-11), for a 2-series carrier (this is known as the "thick gear"). This is for 10-bolt, 82-88 7.5" (7 1/2") and 89-02 7.625" (7 5/8") setups. This DOES NOT fit 9-bolt differentials. If you are not sure how to identify your carrier or differential, please contact us first, we do not accept returns on installed gears. Fits the following:

    82-88 Camaro w/ 10-bolt 7.5", 2-series carrier
    89-92 Camaro w/ 10-bolt 7.625", 2-series carrier
    82-88 Firebird/Trans Am w/ 10-bolt 7.5" differential, 2-series carrier
    89-02 Firebird/Trans Am w/ 10-bolt 7.625" differential, 2-series carrier

    NOTE : 82-02's came with 6 different gear ratios. This gear set will only bolt to a 2-series carrier (2.83, 2.73, 3.08 factory ratio), as this is the thick gear which does not require a spacer. If you have a 3-series carrier (3.23, 3.42, 3.73 factory ratio), you will need the standard gear (not thick) for the 3-series carrier (ITEM #133917780848). Special tools such as a shop press & bearing pullers are required to install a gear set. Gears must be shimmed properly to avoid both noise and failure.
